Share market update: Pharma shares advance; Cipla gains 4%

NEW DELHI: Pharma shares were trading higher in Monday's session with their sectoral index trading up.

Shares of Cipla (up 4.45 per cent) , Lupin (up 2.26 per cent) , Divis Laboratories (up 1.85 per cent) , Biocon (up 1.61 per cent) , Dr Reddys Laboratories (up 0.88 per cent) , Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (up 0.71 per cent) , Torrent Pharmaceuticals (up 0.54 per cent) , Aurobindo Pharma (up 0.5 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories (up 0.33 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Pharma index was trading 2.4 per cent up at 10241.95 around 11:45AM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 44.25 points at 10288.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 124.38 points at 34856.11.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Federal Bank, PNB, Tata Motors, RBL Bank Ltd., Glenmark Pharma, SBI, IDFC First Bank Ltd. and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
