Share market update: IT shares mixed; Hexaware surges 20%

NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading on a mixed note in Friday's session.

Shares of Hexaware (up 20 per cent), NIIT Technologies (up 4.16 per cent) , Just Dial (up 0.98 per cent) , Wipro (up 0.72 per cent) and MPhasis (up 0.53 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Tata Consultancy (down 2.09 per cent) , Mindtree (down 1.4 per cent) , Info Edge (India) (down 1.1 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (down 1.03 per cent) , Infosys (down 0.94 per cent) and HCL Technologies (down 0.47 per cent) were the top losers in the index.


The Nifty IT index was trading 0.1 per cent down at 14612.4 around 12:10PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 70.60 points at 10099.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 156.53 points at 34137.23.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Trident Ltd, Tata Power, BHEL, PNB and Bharti Airtel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
