Share market update: Bank shares up; PNB rises 3%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading with gains in Friday's session.

Shares of Bank of Baroda (up 3.04 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 2.9 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 2.79 per cent) , Federal Bank (up 2.74 per cent) , RBLBANK (up 2.49 per cent) , IDFCBANK (up 2.4 per cent) , Bandhan Bank (up 1.95 per cent) , HDFC Bank (up 1.63 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (up 1.11 per cent) , Axis Bank (up 0.56 per cent) and ICICI Bank (up 0.56 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.07 per cent up at 20609.05 around 12:02PM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 60.95 points at 10090.05, while the BSE Sensex was up 118.78 points at 34099.48.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Trident Ltd, Tata Power, BHEL, PNB and Bharti Airtel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
