Share market update: Auto shares gain; Tata Motors jumps 8%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the green in Friday's session.

Shares of Tata Motors (up 8.58 per cent), Ashok Leyland (up 4.92 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (up 1.73 per cent) , Bharat Forge (up 1.58 per cent) , Amara Raja Batteries (up 1.35 per cent) , Bosch (up 1.0 per cent) , Maruti Suzuki (up 0.94 per cent) , Apollo Tyres (up 0.83 per cent) , TVS Motor Company (up 0.73 per cent) , MRF (up 0.54 per cent) , Eicher Motors (up 0.42 per cent) , Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.15 per cent) and Exide Industries (up 0.03 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.88 per cent up at 6568.5 around 11:54AM.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 62.80 points at 10091.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 127.75 points at 34108.45.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, Trident Ltd, Tata Power, PNB, BHEL and Bharti Airtel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
