Share market update: Bank shares up; ICICI Bank gains 3%
The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.41 per cent up at 19047.55 .

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the positive zone in Tuesday's session.
Shares of ICICI Bank (up 3.21 per cent), Axis Bank (up 2.88 per cent), State Bank of India (up 2.7 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 2.27 per cent), Federal Bank (up 1.72 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.16 per cent) and IDFCBANK (up 0.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 1.41 per cent up at 19047.55 around 11:44 am.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 239.70 points at 8520.8 , while the BSE Sensex was up 771.54 points at 29211.86 .
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 47 were trading in the green, while 3 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IndusInd Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, Vedanta , ITC, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
