Share market update: Auto shares gain; M&M climbs 4%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading with gains in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Amara Raja Batteries (up 7.54 per cent), MRF (up 3.84 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra (up 3.72 per cent), Exide Industries (up 2.92 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 2.85 per cent), Tata Motors (up 2.64 per cent), TATAMDVR (up 2.16 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 1.02 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 0.44 per cent) and Eicher Motors (up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.21 per cent up at 4725.45 around 11:33 am.


Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 216.25 points at 8497.35 , while the BSE Sensex was up 701.42 points at 29141.74 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 46 were trading in the green, while 4 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, IndusInd Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, Vedanta , ITC, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
