Market Now: Top gainer and loser on Wednesday

NEW DELHI: Shares of Aurobindo Pharma (up 4.75 per cent), Zee Entertainment (up 2.93 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 2.87 per cent), ITC (up 2.69 per cent) and Hindalco (up 2.46 per cent) stood as top gainers in Nifty50 index in Wednesday's trade.

However, stocks such as, UltraTech Cement (down 2.69 per cent), ACC (down 1.49 per cent), Ambuja Cements (down 1.35 per cent), Infosys (down 1.31 per cent), Bharti Infratel (down 1.30 per cent), Adani Ports SEZ (down 0.54 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.51 per cent) slipped even as the benchmark index remained firm.

Pharma, metal, IT and auto stocks surged in Wednesday's trade keeping the bourses aloft.

All sectoral indices contributed to market rally by trading in green.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 58 points up at 9,884, while the 30-share Sensex was 200 points up at 31,911 around 2.40 pm (IST).

Over 40 stocks including Hilton Metal, Celebrity Fash, Kamat Hotels, Aditya Birla Money, JVL Agro Ind, KRBL, Balaji Telefilms, Biocon, Hindalco and Hindustan Unilever hit their fresh 52-week high on NSE

On the contrary, nearly 18 stocks including FCS Software, Vimal Oil Food, KSS, Cambridge Tech, Zensar Tech, Navin Fluorine and REI Agro hit their fresh 52-week low.

In the Nifty50 pack, 37 stocks were trading in green, while 14 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,669 stocks were advancing whereas 960 stocks were lagging.
