Market Now: Sensex, Nifty turn choppy; these stocks crack over 7%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Nakoda (down 16.67 per cent), Pudumjee Industries (down 10.78 per cent), IMP Powers (down 9.12 per cent), Premier Poly (down 8.12 per cent) and Sathavahana Ispat (down 7.85 per cent) cracked over 7 per cent on NSE in Monday's trade.

Stocks such as Parsvnath Developers (down 6.71 per cent), Signet Industries (down 6.67 per cent), Lumax Auto Tech (down 6.11 per cent), Nagreeka Capital (down 5.80 per cent), Lanco Infratech (down 5.26 per cent), Keynote Corporate Services (down 5 per cent) and Euro Ceramics (down 5 per cent) also cracked over 5 per cent.

Benchmark indices turned choppy in the afternoon session as gains in bank, metal and auto stocks were offset by losses in pharma, IT and telecom stocks.

In the Nifty pack, Axis Bank, Coal India, Eicher Motors, Vedanta, tech Mahindra and Tata Steel were top gainers.

However, Infosys, Power Grid, Bharti Infratel, Hindustan Unilever, Lupin, Cipla and Asian paints were losing.

Overseas, Asian markets witnessed a mixed trend amid geopolitical concerns as US-South Korea military drills begin.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 11 points down at 9,827, while the 30-share Sensex was 93 points lower at 31,431 around 1 pm (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 26 stocks were trading in green, while 25 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,127 stocks were advancing whereas 1,284 stocks were lagging.
