Market Now: Over 20 stocks hit fresh 52-week high

NEW DELHI: Over 20 stocks, including Aptech, Bharti Airtel, Chennai Petroleum Corporation, Dilip Buildcon, Dewan Housing Finance Corporation, Avenue Supermarts, Future Enterprises, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Indiabulls Housing Finance, JSW Steel and Shipping Corporation Of India hit fresh 52-week high on NSE in Thursday's trade.

On the contrary, Adhunik Metaliks, Banswara Syntex, GTPL Hathway, Nitin Fire Protection and United Breweries (Holdings) were among the 18 stocks that hit a new 52-week low in Thursday's trade so far.

Sensex, after surging over 110 points, turned choppy as gains of pharma, metal and IT stocks were offset by losses in bank and auto stocks.

Mixed global cues pushed investors' to maintain restraint in buying.

Sun Pharma, Tata Power, Infosys, Lupin and Tech Mahindra gained over 1 per cent in Nifty50 index.

On the contrary, Adani Ports, Bajaj Auto, Hindustan Unilever and Zee Entertainment Enterprises slipped up to 1 per cent.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 10 points up at 9,862, while the 30-share Sensex was 34 points up at 31,602 around 10.20 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 27 stocks were trading in green, while 24 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,109 stocks were advancing whereas 800 stocks were lagging.
