Market Now: Nifty FMCG index up; Hindustan Unilever jumps 3%

NEW DELHI: Shares of Hindustan Unilever (up 2.94 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (up 2.66 per cent), Colgate-Palmolive (India) (up 1.73 per cent), Emami (up 1.12 per cent) and ITC (up 0.64 per cent) were gaining in Monday's afternoon trade.

On the other hand, Godrej Industries (down 1.94 per cent), Britannia Industries (down 1.37 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (down 0.64 per cent), United Spirits (down 0.60 per cent) and Dabur India (down 0.40 per cent) were losing in trade.

The Nifty FMCG was trading 0.83 per cent up at 25645.85 around 02:10 pm (IST).

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 58 points at 10,225, while BSE Sensex was up 180 points at 32,613.

Among the 51 stocks in Nifty index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Idea Cellular, NHPC, Bharti Airtel, RIL, Hindalco, ICICI Bank, SBI, Vedanta Ltd, ITC, Bharti Infratel, Tata Motors, Axis Bank were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange on Monday.

Shares of Godrej Agrovet, Everest Ind, Aarvi Encon, Suven Life Sci, AMD Industries, RKEC Projects, Eon Electric, Cadsys (India), Ramco Ind, Phoenix Mills, Peninsula Land, Shaival Reality hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.

Beta Drugs, Bohra Industries, TV Vision, Sri Adhikari, SAB Events & Governance Now Media, Indian Card Clo, Infomedia Press, Krishana Phoschem, SBI Life Insurance Company, Omfurn India, Vardhman Poly, Khaitan Elect hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.

On the NSE, 817 stocks were advancing, compared with 840 stocks declining and 324 stocks remaining unchanged.
