Market Now: Nearly 70 stocks hit fresh 52-week highs today

NEW DELHI: Nearly 70 stocks, including Ashok Leyland, Bajaj Finserv, Bata India, Century Textiles, Colgate Palmolive (India), HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Indraprastha Gas, IndusInd Bank, Liberty Shoes, Maharashtra Scooters, Maruti Suzuki India, Nestle India, Page Industries, TVS Motor and Wipro hit fresh 52-week highs on NSE in Monday's trade.

On the other hand, Banswara Syntex, Camlin Fine Sciences, Hindustan Dorr-Oliver, The Motor & General Finance and Piramal Phytocare were among the 16 stocks that hit fresh 52-week lows in trade so far.

In the Nifty50 index, Gail, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Power, Tech Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever and Coal India were trading as the top gainers.

However, Sun Pharma, Bharti Infratel, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Vedanta, State Bank of India and Bharti Airtel were losing in trade.

Domestic equity markets were trading firm amid positive Asian cues.

Buying in realty, pharma and auto stocks contributed to the rally.

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 49 points up at 9,984, while the 30-share Sensex was 152 points up at 31,839 around 10.35 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 pack, 38 stocks were trading in the green, while 13 stocks were in red.

On BSE, 1,452 stocks were advancing whereas 706 stocks were lagging.
