Market now: 20 stocks@52-wk high; top trending sectors

Over 20 stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs in Tuesday’s trade as the benchmark Sensex rallied over 100 points to cross past the 30,000 mark in morning trade and Nifty rose nearly 50 points to 9,347 amid brisk buying on the frontline bluechip counters.

Shares of Maruti Suzuki, Transwarranty Finance, Dhunseri Invst, Indbank Merc, Maithan Alloys, Precision Wires, DCB Bank, CMI Ltd, TVS Srichakra, Federal Bank, DCM Shriram Cons, TIL, ABM International, C&C Construct, Western India Plywood, Punjab & Sind Bank, Kokuyo Camlin, Hubtown, Rain Industries and Tata Global Beverages hit fresh 52-week high in the first hour of trade on NSE.

At the same time, Rasoya Proteins, Urja Global, Sharon Bio-Med, Intense Tech, Shekhawati Poly, FCS Software, VKS Projects, SRS, Farmax India, Green Fire Agri, GSK Pharma touched 52-week lows.

Overall, 36 shares were trading in the green in the Nifty50 index, while 14 others were trading in the red at around 10 am (IST).

In the Nifty50 index, Indiabulls Housing Finance, BPCL, Maruti Suzuki, Bank of Baroda, Bajaj Auto, HDFC, Indian Oil Corporation, Hero MotoCorp, Zee Entertainment, Eicher Motors, ONGC, Tech Mahindra, TCS, YES Bank, Asian Paints, HCL Technologies, Grasim Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ITC, Bharti Infratel, SBI, Infosys, IndusInd Bank, Tata Steel, Adani Ports SEZ were among top gainers, while ACC, Ambuja Cements, Tata Motors, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, UltraTech Cement, Sun Pharma, RIL, PowerGrid, Hindustan Unilever, Cipla, Bosch, GAIL, ICICI Bank, Tata Power, M&M, Larsen & Toubro, Lupin, Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, NTPC, Coal India, Aurobindo Pharma, Hindalco, Dr Reddy’s Labs were trading in the red.

The BSE Sensex was up 132.69 points at 30,051 at 10 am.

Traders were seen piling up position in gems and jewellery, petroleum, equipments, petrochemicals, information technology, construction, infrastructure and finance, while selling was visible on transport, rubber, engineering, textiles and chemicals counters.
