Market close at record highs; nearly 300 stocks hit 52-week high on BSE
Sensex rallied as much as 262 pts on Monday, to hit its fresh lifetime high of 26,900.30, led by gains in Cipla, Hero MotoCorp, ICICI and Maruti.

Tracking the momentum, as much as 284 stocks rose to their fresh 52-week high on the Bombay Stock Exchange, which include names like BPCL, Godrej Consumer Products, IndusInd Bank, Tech Mahindra, Nestle India etc.
The BSE Sensex finally closed 229.44 points higher or 0.86 per cent at 26,867.55. It hit a fresh record high 26,900.30 and a low of 26,732.39 in trade today.
The 50-share Nifty index also managed to surge over 80 points to hit its fresh record high of 8035, led by gains in NTPC, Coal India, Hindalco, L&T and SBI. As much as 118 stocks rose to their fresh 52-week high on the National Stock Exchange.

The S&P BSE Small-cap index was also trading nearly 1.30 per cent higher at 10,397, and as much as 43 stocks rose to their fresh 52-week high, which include names like SRF, Shanthi Gears, PC Jeweller, Ricoh India Ltd, Kolte-Patil, DCM Shriram Ltd etc.
