NEW DELHI: As many as 278 stocks, including Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Tata Coffee and Tata Motors hit 52-week lows on NSE on Monday.

Kitex Garments, MVL, Indian Metals, Strides Shasun, Syncom Health, Morarjee Text, Capacit'e Infraprojects, Ansal Prop, Network18 Media, Next Mediaworks, Sangam (India) and Ginni Filaments also featured among stocks that hit 52-week lows on NSE.

On the other hand, GSS Infotech, Madhav Copper, Indostar Capital Finance, Tata Consultancy Services, Orient Press, Colgate Palmolive (India), Britannia Industries and Hindustan Unilever hit 52-week highs on NSE on Monday.

Extending the losing streak for the fifth consecutive day, equity benchmarks finished the day with losses on sustained selling across sectors, led by pharma, industrial, auto, consumer durables, metal and realty stocks.

Investor sentiment remained weak amid surging crude oil prices and falling rupee.

The 50-share Nifty pack tanked 80 points or 0.75 per cent to settle at 10,517 on Monday, with 15 stocks in the green, 33 in the red and 2 unchanged.

The Sensex plunged 232 points or 0.67 per cent, finishing the day at 34,616. The 31-stocks kitty saw only 6 stocks advancing, while 25 declining.

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Sun Pharma, UPL, YES Bank, Zee Entertainment, Cipla, Tata Motors, Titan and Tata Steel remained the top Nifty losers of the day.
