'Voice of a million centuries has left us.' Big B pays respect to Lata Mangeshkar, visits the singer's home with daughter Shweta
Amitabh Bachchan also took to his blog to express his grief.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan arrived with his daughter Shweta Bachchan at the 92-year-old singer’s residence to pay their respects. In a career spanning over 70 years, Lata has lent her voice to hundreds of Bollywood tracks that went on to define Hindi cinema.
Lata’s mellifluous voice was a part of numerous films headlined by Amitabh Bachchan such as ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Abhimaan’, ‘Silsila’, etc.

“She has left us ..The voice of a million centuries has left us .. her voice resounds now in the Heavens. Prayers for calm and peace,” the actor wrote.
Lata Mangeshkar,92, breathed her last on Sunday morning after battling Covid-19, pneumonia and several other age-related issues. Following her demise, there has been an outpour of grief on social media.
Lata Mangeshkar who has lent her voice to thousands of songs have earned several national honours in her lifetime. The singer began her career in 1942 and went on to sing as many as 50,000 songs in around 14 Indian languages. Often referred to as 'Didi', the veteran went on to become the most recorded voice in music history.
The veteran singer died at 8.12 am because of multi-organ failure after over 28 days of hospitalisation. The news was confirmed by Dr Pratit Samdani from Breach Candy Hospital.
