Vedanta boss remembers the first time he met Amitabh Bachchan, GOQii founder bowled over by Big B's 'never give up' spirit

The megastar celebrated his 80th birthday on Tuesday.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his 80th birthday on Tuesday.

At 80, the tech-savvy Big B is a social media pro who has received thousands and hundreds of birthday wishes from family, friends and fans on various platforms.

India Inc bosses also took to Twitter to honour the octogenarian on his special day.


Vedanta Resources Limited Chairman Anil Agarwal recalled the first time he caught a glimpse of Bachchan during the premiere of the 1975 film 'Sholay'.

Alongside an image of himself with the actor, the mining boss said that he felt fortunate to have met Bachchan in person.

Posting a special birthday message for the Shehnshah of Bollywood, Agarwal further wrote, "It was the most memorable moment of my life."

On the other hand, GOQii founder Vishal Gondal praised Bachchan's 'never gives up' spirit. The entrepreneur said that the Big B has earned a special place in people's hearts with his positive attitude, determination and work ethic.

"It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up. And with your determination, positive attitude, talent and work ethic, you have gained the respect of the world," his post read.


The 'Piku' star was last seen in 'Good Bye', which also features Neena Gupta and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles.

This year, the thespian also starred in director Nagraj Manjule's sports drama 'Jhund', Ajay Devgn-led 'Runway 34' and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer 'Brahmastra: Part One: Shiva'.

On the work front, the hosting duties of the 14th season of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' are currently keeping the superstar busy. This year marks the 13th year of the collaboration between Bachchan and ‘KBC’.

The ‘Paa’ actor has a number of upcoming projects in his kitty. He will be seen in 'Uunchai' alongside Bollywood actress Parineeti Chopra, and 'Project K' with South star Prabhas and Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone.
