Amitabh Bachchan pens an emotional note after surprising fans outside 'Jalsa' on 80th birthday

Amitabh Bachchan said that the love and affection of his fans meant the world to him.
Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan had a special surprise planned on Tuesday at midnight for his fans on his 80th birthday.
To surprise his fans, the Big B stepped out of his Juhu home 'Jalsa' at midnight and greeted his admirers stationed outside to catch a glimpse of the birthday boy on his special day.
The cinema icon waved at well-wishers and showed gratitude with folded hands. He was accompanied by his author-daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda and personal security.
Dressed in a check hoodie and blue monkey cap, Bachchan's video has gone viral on social media.

Humbled to see the fans outside his residence, the 80-year-old took to his official blog to draft a special message for his fans, who he fondly refers to as extended family.
Bachchan thanked his fans for 'sharing this day' with him and for being with him for all these years.

"Birthday greetings... and the prayers for happiness ever. Thank you for sharing this day with me and for being with me all these years. (I) am humbled and overwhelmed by all the love and affection. Love you all, my extended family (sic)," he wrote.
He also went on to pen a few poetic words on his birthday. He said that he was at a loss for words to be able to describe what the love and affection of his fans meant to him.
"... and another 365 ... and another begins ... as do many other begins. Beginnings are required. They provide ends ... and ends need love and grace and care to be accomplished. It is impossible for me to even attempt what your love and affection means to me. So I fold my hands and pray for all in the spirit of generous gratitude. My love as ever (sic)," he wrote. Big B's blog post In the post, the octogenarian also wished some of his fans, who share a birthday with him.

Bachchan's career spans over five decades. His last outing was in the family drama 'Goodbye'. This year, he also starred in 'Jhund', 'Runway 34' and 'Brahmastra: Part One: Shiva'.

The superstar is currently hosting the 14th season of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. His upcoming movies include 'Uunchai' and 'Project K' with South star Prabhas and Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone.
