Yash made his much-awaited return to the big screen with Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups after a four-year gap. The actor was last seen in KGF: Chapter 2, which became a major box-office success and turned expectations around his next project even higher. However, despite the buzz surrounding the film, Toxic could not deliver the theatrical performance that many had expected from the star.

Now, the film is reportedly heading to the digital platform. According to 123Telugu reports, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups is likely to premiere on ZEE5 on September 25, 2026. The film is expected to be available in multiple languages, including Telugu. However, the reported OTT date has not yet been officially confirmed by the makers or the streaming platform. Viewers will therefore have to wait for an official announcement before treating the date as final.

Toxic could get a fresh opportunity with its digital release after a disappointing theatrical run. The film was one of the most anticipated Kannada movies in recent years, largely because it marked Yash's first major release after KGF: Chapter 2.

Toxic box office collection: Film struggles in Week 3

While the film opened to considerable interest, its collections slowed down considerably after the first week. According to the figures provided, Toxic earned around Rs 21 lakh on its third Friday, followed by Rs 33 lakh on Saturday and Rs 26 lakh on Sunday.

The film recorded an overall occupancy of 25.7% across 292 shows on its third Sunday. Its Sunday collection was also around 21.2% lower than the previous day's business, showing the limited momentum during its third weekend.

The first week remained the strongest phase of the film's theatrical journey. Toxic collected Rs 239.30 crore net in India during its opening week. However, the pace dropped sharply in the second week, when it added only Rs 8.94 crore.

This took the film's combined India net collection after two weeks to Rs 248.24 crore. Its third-week figures have so far remained modest, making the theatrical run less successful than the expectations surrounding Yash's comeback.

Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups features Yash in a dual role. The film also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth in key roles.

Geetu Mohandas directed the film, while Ravi Basrur, who also worked on the KGF franchise, composed its music. The movie combines action, drama and crime elements and revolves around a gangster-driven world.

The film's scale and cast had made it one of Yash's most closely watched projects. His return after KGF: Chapter 2 further added to the anticipation, while the repeated delays kept the project in the spotlight.
