The Traitors Telugu OTT release announced: Streaming date and time, host, contestants list and more - all you need to know about Teja Sajja’s upcoming reality show

After making its mark with the Hindi version, The Traitors is now getting a Telugu twist. The reality show is bringing together 20 contestants, hidden identities and a game where friendships can change in a matter of minutes. With trust at the centre of the competition and betrayal around every corner, the Telugu edition is set to introduce a new group of players to the popular format.

Streaming details of The Traitors Telugu

The Traitors Telugu has announced to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 15, 2026. The 10-episode series will stream in Telugu with English subtitles, with new episodes dropping every Thursday at 12 noon IST. The show will be released over four weeks and will be hosted by actor Teja Sajja, who is making his debut as a reality show host.

The series will be available in Telugu with English subtitles, giving viewers outside the Telugu-speaking audience an option to follow the competition as well.




Known for films such as Hanu-Man, Teja Sajja is taking on a new role with The Traitors Telugu. The actor will guide 20 contestants through a game involving alliances, secret identities, strategy and betrayal.

For Teja, the show also marks his first stint as a reality television host. In the trailer, he sets the mood by talking about how people can turn to deception when they are chasing things such as love, power or victory.

He also talks about one of the biggest challenges in the game and said, "Everybody in the world are good people, until an opportunity to deceive arrives. For love, power, war and victory, deception has not changed even if eras have. It is easy to spot an enemy, but what about a traitor who acts like a friend? If you cheat one person, it’s deception, but if you do that to everyone, it’s a game. Trust is uncool, deception is the new rule here."

20 contestants, one game of deception

The show brings together 20 personalities from different walks of life. While the contestants enter the competition together, they do not all have the same role.

They are secretly divided into two groups, Innocents and Traitors. The Innocents have to figure out who among them is working against the group. Meanwhile, the Traitors must keep their identities hidden while eliminating their opponents without getting caught.

This makes alliances and relationships an important part of the game. A contestant may have to decide whether to trust a close ally or question their intentions, knowing that one wrong decision could affect their chances of making it to the end.

The Traitors is based on a global reality format that has been adapted in more than 30 countries. The Indian version first arrived in Hindi and has already completed two seasons.

The Hindi edition was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar. In the second season, Krystle D'Souza and Rida Tharana emerged as the joint winners.

The Telugu version will now introduce the format to a new regional audience, with Teja Sajja taking over as host and an entirely new group of contestants entering the game.

Unlike a conventional reality competition where contestants openly compete against each other, The Traitors depends heavily on secrecy. The Traitors have to deceive the Innocents while the latter must work together to expose them.

As the game progresses, contestants will have to navigate alliances, suspicion and shifting loyalties. The central question remains simple: who can be trusted when everyone has a reason to hide something?

Teja Sajja’s work front

While The Traitors Telugu marks a new television chapter for Teja Sajja, the actor also has several film projects lined up. He is set to headline Zombie Reddy NXT LVL, the sequel to his horror-comedy Zombie Reddy.
