Prabhas’ much-hyped film The Raja Saab arrived in cinemas earlier this year as a Sankranthi festive release, carrying massive expectations on its shoulders. Directed by Maruthi, the film attempted to mix horror, romance and comedy while presenting the superstar in a new avatar. With a grand scale, lavish production design and a multi-language release, the pan-Indian project was positioned as a big-ticket entertainer. However, despite the buzz and star power, the film struggled to connect with audiences during its theatrical run. Now, it's gearing up for its digital debut.

After completing most of its theatrical run, The Raja Saab is now all set for its digital premiere. The Prabhas-starrer will stream on Jio Hotstar from February 6, 2026. The makers officially announced the release date. The movie will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, with English subtitles. Much to the disappointment of Hindi-speaking audiences, the Hindi version will not be available on the platform at this stage, despite several Bollywood actors being part of the cast.



The OTT release offers The Raja Saab a fresh opportunity to find its audience. Films that struggle in theatres often see renewed interest on streaming platforms, and industry insiders believe the movie’s genre could appeal to viewers watching it at home. The film is produced by People Media Factory, while Thaman has composed the music and background score.

At the box office, The Raja Saab reportedly collected around Rs 207.15 crore worldwide, with approximately Rs 144.93 crore coming from India. Given its estimated budget of over Rs 400 crore, the film incurred major losses, making its theatrical outcome a disappointing one for the makers.


The storyline follows Raja Saab, played by Prabhas, who lives with his grandmother Gangamma, portrayed by Zarina Wahab. Suffering from Alzheimer’s, Gangamma remembers only her long-lost husband Kanakaraju, played by Sanjay Dutt. When Raja Saab learns that his grandfather is living in Hyderabad, he sets out to reunite the elderly couple. What unfolds is a mix of emotional moments, romantic tracks and horror elements that shape the rest of the narrative.
