In the caption, he also underlined some of okra’s other benefits:
Okra contains a viscous, gel-forming type of fibre that can slow the digestive process and potentially help reduce the speed at which glucose is released into the blood.
Antioxidant-rich plant compounds: Okra provides polyphenols and other beneficial compounds that may help protect cells from oxidative stress while supporting the body’s natural inflammatory balance.
Vitamin K: This essential nutrient contributes to normal blood clotting and plays an important role in maintaining strong, healthy bones.
Folate and other B vitamins: These nutrients are involved in cellular function, metabolism and the processes through which the body produces and uses energy.
However, Coutinho also cautioned that bhindi shouldn’t be deep-fried, as it destroys many of its nutrients. Rather than being deep-fried, it should be cooked with a little oil.
Luke Coutinho is a well-known nutritionist and lifestyle influencer. Celebrities like Anushka Shetty, Mahesh Babu, and Tamannaah Bhatia have collaborated with him.
