Sundar Pichai celebrates Diwali by watching India's T20 world cup victory, snubs troll with epic response

It is a double celebration for Indians worldwide. The nail-biting India Vs Pakistan T20 match and subsequent victory marked the beginning of Diwali for India and Indians all over the world. Virat Kohli emerged as the undisputed king with his unbeaten 82 off 53 balls in the thrilling match. Fans all over are jubilant.

Google CEO, Sundar Pichai, who is known to be an avid Cricket fan took to his Twitter account to wish the world Diwali and to also let them know how he celebrated D-day. The 50-year-old technocrat extended warm wishes on Diwali adding that he celebrated the festival by watching and re-watching India’s glorious victory over Pakistan on Sunday. He commended the Indian team in his short tweet.

“Happy Diwali! Hope everyone celebrating has a great time with your friends and family. I celebrated by watching the last three overs again today, what a game and performance #Diwali #TeamIndia #T20WC2022,” wrote Pichai.

However, this was not all. Pichai’s tweet which garnered over 230K likes, and 26K retweets also attracted some trolls. A user named Muhammad Shahzaib replied to Pichai’s tweet by saying that the Google boss should also watch the first three overs - a jibe at Pichai’s tweet as India started on a rough note in the high-octane match.

Pichai was, it seems, ready with his response. The humble tech boss said that he watched the first three overs and hailed Bhuvi and Arshdeep, all with a smiley. “Did that too:) what a spell from Bhuvi and Arshdeep,” read Pichai’s response.

The Google boss was referring to the first three overs of the match when Arshdeep sent Pakistan captain Babar Azam and batsman Mohammed Rizwan to the pavilion.

Pichai’s response was hailed by social media users. His response attracted over 100K likes and over 20K retweets.

Ever since the match, fans have been celebrating Kohli’s masterclass knock. The former Indian team captain said that it was his finest knock, beyond his 2016 against Australia in Mohali.
