Mahindra has also offered to support with the continued supply of LPG.
Two days after Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra shared a video, posted by a new publication, of an 80-year-old woman who sells idlis at just one rupee each, and offered to 'invest' in her business, Bharat Gas stepped in to give her a LPG connection.

Kamalathal, who hails from Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore district, used to cook on a wood-burning stove to make over 1000 idlis every day. Her indomitable spirit won many hearts on social media, including that of Mahindra - who had then offered to 'buy her an LPG fueled stove'.

However, his wish has now been fulfilled by Bharat Gas Coimbatore, who tweeted a picture of its executives providing a stove and cylinder to Kamalathal.

Thanking Bharat Gas and Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan for 'giving this gift of health to Kamalathal', Mahindra added, "As I have already stated, I am happy to support her continuing costs of using LPG...And thank you @dpradhanbjp for your concern and thoughtfulness."

Pradhan, who played a pro-active role in the quick assistance in providing a LPG connection to Kamalathal, said in a tweet on Wednesday, "Salute the spirit and commitment of Kamalathal. Glad to have helped her through local OMC officers in getting LPG connection."

It all began on Tuesday, when Mahindra shared her story on Twitter, writing, "One of those humbling stories that make you wonder if everything you do is even a fraction as impactful as the work of people like Kamalathal. I notice she still uses a wood-burning stove. If anyone knows her I’d be happy to ‘invest’ in her business & buy her an LPG fueled stove."

His tweet, though appreciated, was also met with questions about the costs involved in using a LPG stove. The India Inc boss had then offered to help support the continued supply of LPG.
