An 'exhausted' Anand Mahindra can't stop gushing over PV Sindhu's brutal training session

Being a World Champion is an idea too appealing. However, not many get a behind-the-scenes preview of what it really takes to achieve that feat. India's star shuttler PV Sindhu, who recently became the first one to win a gold as the BWF World Championships, has also gone through some tough training to reach where she is today. And India's leading business tycoon just can't stop gushing over her brutal workout sessions. On Tuesday, Mahindra and Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to share a video of the training sessions of the 24-year-old and ended the mystery of her success story.

The one-minute-long video featured Sindhu lifting weights, practicing lunges and many other forms of resistance training with her coach Pullela Gopichand. The boardroom veteran, exhausted at the sight of it, reiterated that she is an inspiration for India's budding sportspersons and will lead them on the road to success.

Mahindra wrote, "Brutal. I’m exhausted just watching this. But now there’s no mystery about why she’s the World Champ. A whole generation of budding Indian sportspersons will follow her lead & not shrink from the commitment required to get to the top..."




On Sunday, Sindhu clinched the gold medal at the World Championships in Basel, Switzerland. On Tuesday, she met Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with her father PV Ramana and coach Gopichand in attendance.
