Congratulations, PV Sindhu! Big B & Gauti impressed, Mahindra hails remarkable victory

Indian shuttler PV Sindhu, on Sunday, created history by winning the first-ever gold medal at BWF World Championships. The 24-year-old beat her arch-rival Nozomi Okuhara of Japan by a strong score of 21-7, 21-7. The 38-minute clash took place in Basel, Switzerland.

The Olympian's victory was met with congratulatory tweets pouring in from President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India Inc, B-town celebrities and stars of the sports world.

President Kovind congratulated Sindhu for bring home glory. He hailed the shuttler for her hard work and perseverance that now is an inspiration for many.




PM Modi tweeted in honour of the stupendously-talented Sindhu who made her country proud again.



Mahindra and Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra talked about how the shuttler's courage and perseverance helped her clinch the gold. Impressed by her dominance upon an old and worthy component, Mahindra congratulated Sindhu for a remarkable victory.



Raymonds chairman and managing director Gautam Singhania, too, was impressed by Sindhu's achievement and congratulated her for setting a new benchmark.



Indian cricket team Head Coach Ravi Shastri posted a heartfelt tweet for Sindhu. The former cricketer hailed her outstanding achievement.



Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, too, hailed Sindhu's spirit for not giving up.



Cricketer-turned-MP Gautam Gambhir also congratulated the newly-crowned World Champion on Twitter.
