Samsung’s Unpacked 2019 event started with the Galaxy Fold and ended with the announcement of the Galaxy S10 5G. The Galaxy S10 5G is amongst the first official smartphones with 5G support and while there was no official date of its launch but it is expected to arrive in the US in the second quarter of 2019.
The Galaxy S10 5G is different from the other three variant of the Galaxy S10 that were launched at the event. For starters, the S10 5G has a massive 6.7-inch curved Quad HD+ Dynamic amoled display with the Infinity-O style notch. It will also be the first smartphone from Samsung to offer a 3D depth camera on the rear as well as the front. It has a 4,500mAh battery – the largest available on an S series device. Plus, it supports super-fast charging with a 25W charger.
Camera setup is also upgraded with the use of 3D depth sensing sensor on the S10 5G. It has a quadruple rear camera with dual OIS – 12MP + 12MP telephoto + 16MP ultra-wide + 3D Depth sensor. On the front, you get a 10MP sensor + 3D depth sensor. The 3D depth sensor enables features like video live focus and Quick Measure plus boosts the phone’s AR capabilities.
Other features remain the same as the Galaxy S10 and S10+. It will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and come in a single variant – 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. However, unlike the S10 and S10+, the S10 5G does not have a microSD slot for storage expansion. It will have the ultra-sonic fingerprint scanner, WiFi ax, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and USB Type-C port.

Samsung did not reveal any information regarding the price of the S10 5G. However, considering that the S10+ is priced US$ 999.99 onwards, we expect the S10 5G to be priced around US$ 1,499.99 when it becomes available later this year.
