For people waiting to catch a glimpse of a fancy wedding reception, there's some disappointing news. Bollywood's newest star couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, have decided to not host any wedding reception.

In a special appearance made to the media on the wedding day on Thursday, the groom's actress-mother Neetu Kapoor confirmed to the media that there wouldn't be any post-wedding function.

Hours after the newly-weds tied the knot at the actor's residence 'Vastu' in Mumbai's Bandra, the groom's family members including the veteran actress, jewellery designer Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and her businessman-husband Bharat Sahni stepped out to greet the media.

When the shutterbugs asked her about the wedding reception, the 'Dance Deewane Juniors' judge confirmed that all the wedding festivities (pre and post) had ended.

She was quoted as saying, "Everything is done. Now, you all can sleep in peace." The media has been stationed outside the 'Sanju' star's Pali Hill home for days to catch all the action live.

Previous reports suggested that the wedding reception was supposed to be held on Sunday (April 17).

Kapoor also requested everyone to pray for a happy married life for Alia and Ranbir.

Later in the day, the 'Jug Jugg Jeeyo' star took to social media to share a number of pictures from the wedding ceremony.
She also shared a picture with her son, and dedicated it to her late actor-husband Rishi Kapoor. Her caption read, "This is dedicated to Kapoor Saab. Your wish has been fulfilled."

On the work front, the veteran actress is keeping herself busy with work to cope with grief, she had said in an interview.
