The wedding of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt - that we all have been waiting for - has finally happened. The couple chose their ‘favourite spot’, the balcony of Kapoor’s erstwhile bachelor pad, ‘Vastu’ to tie the knot on Thursday. While only close friends and family were in attendance, not many posted on social media during the wedding ceremony and the paparazzi, despite their hawkish lens, could not get many visuals of the event.

The bride later took to Instagram to share beautiful photos of the private wedding ceremony that reportedly took place in a traditional Punjabi way. Taking to Instagram, Bhatt posted several photos from the day and shared a note from her and her husband, Kapoor.

The ‘Raazi’ actress wrote, “Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot - the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship - we got married. With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites.”

The actress also thanked everyone for ‘all the love and light’ during ‘this very momentous time’ in their lives. She added that it had made this moment all the more special.

The two looked beautiful in matching ivory and gold outfits, designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. While Bhatt complimented her saree with matching kundan jewellery, the groom wore a turban and sherwani.

After the wedding, the couple came out to meet the paparazzi and toasted to their married life with champagne and cake. Kapoor also lifted his new bride, as he walked back inside, after the interaction.

The wedding was a very private affair, but the families of the star couple marked their full attendance. From the Kapoor squad, the mother-of-the-groom Neetu Kapoor, sister Ridhima Kapoor and her family, cousins, actors Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, as well as Aadar and Armaan Jain along with their mother Rima Jain, and uncle Randhir Kapoor were present in the afternoon wedding.

Since it was a day wedding most wedding guests chose light colours and several were spotted in various shades of pink, including Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karan Johar.

Media reports quoted Neetu Kapoor’s choreographer, Rajendra Singh aka Masterji saying that the wedding was planned in less than ten days. Previously, the groom had said that the couple had plans of getting hitched during the pandemic but that did not happen. They have been dating for the past four years, and will soon be seen together on the celluloid for the first time in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’.
