Ranbir-Alia’s nuptials at ‘Vastu’? Groom sets aside Rs 1L for 'joota chori'; wedding band with 8 diamonds for bride & more

Are they or are they not heading to the altar on April 14? That’s the biggest question on everyone’s mind about Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s wedding. The star couple, who has been dating for four years, are definitely gearing up to tie the knot, and if the preparations at the Kapoor’s home ‘Vastu’ is any indication, the wedding may happen very soon indeed.

In fact, on Wednesday morning, NDTV reported that although there were rumours of delay, the big event is on track and will happen on April 14th, with the Kapoor and Bhatt families starting festivities from today onwards. The report further claimed that there will be an intimate mehendi ceremony at Kapoor’s pad after 2pm on Wednesday, in presence of the couple’s close friends and family members.

Wedding At ‘Vastu’?
The NDTV report claims that the wedding will take place in Kapoor’s home, ‘Vastu’, although RK Studios and the ‘Barfi’ actor’s family home, ‘Krishna Raj’ has been decked up in light to celebrate the occasion. For the last few days there had been a lot of buzz at 'Vastu' with shipments of crockeries, long dinning tables, decoration objects being delivered. Pararazzi shots show that the interior of Kapoor's home has also been decked up with lights and flowers.

If a claim by a India Today report is to be trusted, the Kapoors have instructed the wedding planners to light up the entire street in front of ‘Vastu’, leading up to Krishna Raj Bungalow, which means a portion of Bandra (a locality in Mumbai where Kapoor lives) will be decorated just to celebrate the star couple's wedding. Police also visited Kapoor's home recently plausibly to check security arrangements for the wedding.

A Sum Of Rs 1L Set Aside For 'Joota Chori' Rasam
Alia Bhatt is known to have a big girl gang. We have seen her dance in sangeets of her friends’ weddings, and now it is their turn to add to the festivities of Kapoor and Bhatt’s big day. According to a Hindustan Times report, Bhatt’s closest friends are in-charge of stealing Kapoor’s shoes, and the groom has generously allocated a budget of Rs 1 lakh for the 'joota chori' rasam.

Off The Beaten Road
Bhatt and Kapoor are breaking away from all the usual celebrity choices for their wedding and if the HT report is to be trusted, the couple had not opted for the celebrity mehendi artist, Veena Nagda, but gone with someone else. Bhatt, along with her manager Grishma Shah has also chosen a photographer who had not done any celebrity weddings before, and as for the mandap, the couple has opted for a female stage designer to decorate it.

A Custom-Made Wedding Band With 8 Diamonds
Whoever follows Alia Bhatt on social media knows that the digit eight, which can also be interpreted as the infinity sign has a special significance for her. The groom too considers this digit auspicious. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Bhatt’s wedding band, designed by a London-based brand, has eight diamonds encrusted on it, according to an India Today report.

Ranbir Kapoor To Take A 7-Day Long Break After Wedding
India Today quoted sources saying that Kapoor will take a mini break post wedding, to spend some time with Bhatt, before he heads out to shoot ‘Animal’ in Manali.
