OTT releases this week (September 14 - September 20): What's new on Netflix, Prime Video, JioHotstar and more

A new week brings new plans and a fresh set of OTT releases. We have rounded up the movies, shows and special events arriving this week that you can watch from the comfort of your home. From Lust Stories 3 to Irumudi, there is something for every kind of viewer.

Latest OTT releases of the week (September 14 - September 20)

Lust Stories 3 - Netflix

Lust Stories 3 is an anthology that brings together four filmmakers to tell different stories about love, relationships, desire and modern-day complexities. Kiran Rao, Vikramaditya Motwane, Shakun Batra and Vishal Bhardwaj have directed the four segments. The film stars Radhika Apte, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vijay Varma, Ali Fazal and Aditi Rao Hydari, among others, and will premiere on Netflix on September 18.


Waiting Hai Season 1 - Amazon Prime Video

Waiting Hai is a comedy crime thriller built around a massive railway ticketing scam. The story follows the investigation into the people allegedly running a digital black market and the efforts to track down those behind the operation. The series stars Divyenndu Sharma, Bhuvan Arora and Harshita Gaur, among others, and will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 16.



Irumudi - Netflix

Ravi Teja's Telugu action drama Irumudi is heading to the digital space after a successful theatrical run. The film follows Trinadh Rama Kasu, who sets out to investigate his daughter's disappearance and the disturbing circumstances surrounding her exploitation. After earning more than Rs 200 crore worldwide in theatres, Irumudi will premiere on Netflix on September 18. The film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.

78th Primetime Emmy Awards - JioHotstar

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on September 15, bringing together some of the biggest names from television. The Pitt leads the nominations with 25, followed by Hacks with 24. The ceremony will be hosted by Mariska Hargitay and will take place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The Drama Series race includes titles such as The Pitt, Slow Horses, The Diplomat, Euphoria and Pluribus, while Hacks, The Bear, Abbott Elementary and others compete in the comedy categories. The ceremony will stream on JioHotstar in India.

Neagley - JioHotstar

Fans of the Reacher universe have another series to look forward to this week. Neagley follows Frances Neagley, played by Maria Sten, a former member of the Army's 110th Special Investigations Unit and a former colleague of Jack Reacher. After a friend from her past dies under suspicious circumstances, Neagley begins investigating and discovers a much larger threat. The series also features Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro and Damon Herriman, with Alan Ritchson making an appearance as Jack Reacher. All eight episodes of Neagley will arrive on JioHotstar on September 16.

Slow Horses Season 6 - Apple TV+

Gary Oldman's Jackson Lamb and his team of unconventional MI5 agents are back with Slow Horses Season 6. The new season is based on Mick Herron's novels Joe Country and Slough House and follows the agents as they become caught in a dangerous game of retaliation. The six-episode season stars Gary Oldman and the returning ensemble cast and premieres on Apple TV+ on September 16. Unlike some of the other releases this week, new episodes will arrive weekly, with the finale scheduled for October 21.



Lee Cronin's The Mummy - JioHotstar

Horror fans can watch Lee Cronin's The Mummy from September 17 on JioHotstar. Directed by Evil Dead Rise filmmaker Lee Cronin, the film follows journalist Charlie Cannon and his wife as they search for their daughter Katie, who disappeared in Egypt eight years earlier. When they finally find her, their relief quickly turns into fear as they realise that she has returned changed and something sinister may be connected to her disappearance. The film stars Jack Reynor, Laia Costa and Natalie Grace.

Stranger Things: Tales from '85 Season 2 - Netflix

The animated Stranger Things spin-off returns with its second and final season on Netflix on September 17. The story continues after the Hawkins Investigators Club's battle with the Horde Queen in the first season. As the town begins to return to normal, strange ghostly appearances and a new threat called hate sprites create fresh trouble for the young investigators. The new danger could once again open a gate to the Upside Down, putting Hawkins at risk.
