Take the case of Ola Cabs founder Bhavish Aggarwal’s wife Rajalakshmi. “I personally put down our scheduled date nights, treks and quality time for our pets on Bhavish’s calendar,” Rajalakshmi told ETPanache at a recent event in Bengaluru.
“Planning is an important skill for a good relationship.”
Rajalakshmi believes that planning is important for a relationship Her startup star husband plays squash and cycles twice a week to ensure his physical well-being. He also adopted a no-sugar diet some time back as a part of his overall fitness plan. “He’s sticking to it. I pack him a lot of dabbas with different food items to keep him full through the day,” Rajalakshmi said.

As for her, she likes to hit a popular park in Bengaluru for a walk with her dogs — two beagles. In fact, she even ropes her husband in for a Sunday ritual, which begins with a walk with the dogs in the park and ends with breakfast at a pet-friendly restaurant in the city.
An animal lover, Rajalakshmi hopes to open a sanctuary for animals some day in the future.
The four-legged members of the house are never too far away from the couple. The Aggarwals make it a point to ring in the New Year with their pets, mostly in Goa. “[But] This New Year, we are planning to go to Kerala. I have already started looking for hotels that will allow pets,” Rajalakshmi said.
Clearly, Rajalakshmi’s planning skills are critical to ensuring that work-life balance is maintained. On an earlier occasion, Aggarwal had thanked her for supporting him through his journey as an entrepreneur. “In 10 years of being together, six while dating and four in marriage, my wife has never once complained about my physical or mental absence in our relationship,” he had said at the time.
