'Nightingale has flown, the melody remains.' Amul, Paytm, Myntra pay tribute to iconic singer Lata Mangeshkar

The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on February 6 in Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital.
Several brands including Amul, Paytm, Myntra and more paid a tribute to India's Nightingale Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 92.

The popular dairy brand Amul, which is also praised for its heartwarming doodles, took to Twitter to pay a homage to the Bharat Ratna awardee through a black and white sketch featuring three images of Mangeshkar from different stages of her life.

In one, she sits with veena in her hands, in another, she is singing in front of a mic while the third is a portrait of when she was a kid. The caption on the picture reads: "Hum jahan jahan chalenge aapke saaya saath hoga..."


The line is in reference to the veteran singer's iconic melody from 1966 cult classic 'Mera Saaya' 'Tu Jahan Jahan Chalega, Mera Saaya Saath Hoga'.


E-commerce brand Paytm paid a tribute to Mangeshkar on Twitter by posting a picture. "The Nightingale has flown, the melody remains," the captain read.

Fashion e-commerce brand Myntra mourned the passing of 92-year-old singer and said that she will live on forever with her timeless melodies.


The last rites of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away on February 6 in Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital, were conducted at Shivaji Park on Sunday in Mumbai with full state honours.

She was admitted to the hospital on January 8 after she was diagnosed with Covid-19 and pneumonia.

Indian music record label, T-series shared a picture of Lata Mangeshkar with music composer and founder of the record company, legendary Gulshan Kumar.

"Remembering the era of two legends Gulshan Kumar Ji and Lata Mangeshkar Ji. Your voice will stay with us forever," the tweet read.


Several celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Aamir Khan, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and more attended the melody queen's funeral in Mumbai.

Prominent ministers including the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, Uddhav Thackeray, Raj Thackeray, Aaditya Thackeray, Piyush Goyal and Sharad Pawar were also present.

They paid floral tributes to the late iconic singer.

Lata Mangeshkar was born in 1929 in Indore. She was the eldest daughter of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, a Marathi musician and a theater actor. A lesser-known fact about the singing legend is that Mangeshkar’s family’s last name used to be Hardikar but her father changed it to Mangeshkar in order to identify with his family’s native town, Mangeshi, in Goa.
