Eyes - SonyLIV
Eyes explores the unsettling subject of stalking and the psychology behind obsessive behaviour. Kani Kusruti plays police officer Tina Sebastian, who investigates a series of cases involving women being watched and harassed. As the cases begin to reveal a possible connection, Tina works with mental health professionals to understand what drives the behaviour.
Directed by Manu Ashokan, the series reunites him with writers Bobby-Sanjay, with whom he previously worked on Uyare and Kaanekkaane. Shruti Ramachandran, Nikhila Vimal, Saniya Iyappan and Dev Mohan are also part of the cast. Eyes will stream on SonyLIV from October 9 in multiple languages.
Khalifa: The Ruler - Prime Video, Simply South, Aha
Prithviraj Sukumaran returns with an action thriller in Khalifa: The Ruler. He plays Aamir Ali, a textile shop owner in Kozhikode whose ordinary life changes after his father is framed in a major gold-trade incident. While trying to protect his family and clear his father's name, Aamir discovers that his estranged grandfather was once a powerful figure in the gold trade.
The discovery pushes Aamir into a completely different world. He eventually takes over his grandfather's legacy and builds his own international gold-trading empire, but his growing power also brings dangerous enemies. Directed by Vysakh, Khalifa: The Ruler also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Malvika Sharma, Shammi Thilakan, Indrans, Renji Panicker, Mohini, Shivajith and Suresh Oberoi. Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas and Soubin Shahir feature in cameo appearances. The film releases on October 9, 2026, and will stream on Prime Video, Simply South, ManoramaMAX and Aha Video.
Epic - First Semester - Netflix
Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya headline the Telugu romantic drama Epic - First Semester. The film follows students who move to London for higher studies and find themselves navigating relationships, ambition and questions about their identity.
Directed by Aditya Hasan, the movie is now making its digital debut after its theatrical run. Epic - First Semester premieres on Netflix on October 9 and will be available in Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Kannada. The multilingual release gives the romantic drama a wider audience beyond its original Telugu market.
Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar - Netflix
Parvathy Thiruvothu takes on the role of a police officer in Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar. She plays Aleena Abraham, a newly recruited officer and mother who gets caught up in a fatal incident at her police station. When Aleena and her colleagues try to conceal what happened, investigator Harris Meeran begins to uncover their story.
What follows is less about a straightforward police investigation and more about a battle of wits. As Harris gets closer to the truth, Aleena starts planning ways to stay ahead of him and protect herself and her colleagues.
Directed by Shahad Nilambur, the film also features Mathew Thomas, Vijayaraghavan, Sidharth Bharathan, Unnimaya Prasad, Vinay Forrt and Azees Nedumangad, with Asif Ali appearing in a cameo. Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar premieres on Netflix on October 9, 2026.
Mandaadi - Netflix
Although Mandaadi is a Tamil film, its Malayalam dubbed version makes it relevant for viewers looking for regional releases this week. The sports action drama stars Soori, Suhas, Mahima Nambiar and Sathyaraj and is set against the backdrop of traditional coastal sailboat racing in Tamil Nadu.
The story follows a former boat racer who is forced to return to his hometown after leaving for Chennai. His return brings him back into the world of racing and the community he had left behind.
Directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, Mandaadi premieres on Netflix on October 8, 2026. Along with the original Tamil version, the film is available in Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada, making it another regional title getting a multilingual OTT release.
