Spider-Man: Brand New Day - Prime Video, Apple TV+Tom Holland is back as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home. Peter is still dealing with the consequences of everyone forgetting his identity while continuing to fight crime. The Marvel film was released on October 6 and is available on Prime Video, while Apple TV+ is offering it on rent.
Animals - Netflix
Ben Affleck returns to the director’s chair with Animals, a psychological thriller in which he also stars alongside Kerry Washington. The story follows a Los Angeles mayoral candidate and his wife whose lives fall apart after their son is kidnapped. They are pushed into increasingly dangerous choices as they try to arrange a massive ransom and bring him home. Animals was released on October 9 and is streaming on Netflix.
Insidious: Out of the Further - Prime Video
Fans of horror have another reason to keep the lights on. Insidious: Out of the Further is the sixth film in the popular horror franchise. Amelia Eve plays Gemma Hall, a young mother who returns to her childhood home and discovers a disturbing connection to The Further. Her discovery soon puts her and her daughter in danger. The film released on October 6 and is available to watch on Prime Video.
Carrie - Prime Video
The latest adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie follows Carrie White, played by Summer H. Howell. She has grown up isolated at home under the strict control of her mother Margaret White, played by Samantha Sloyan. Things begin to change when Carrie enters public high school, faces bullying and discovers her telekinetic abilities. Carrie released on October 7 and is streaming on Prime Video.
Reporting Live - Netflix
Parineeti Chopra takes on the role of a journalist in Reporting Live, an investigative thriller about a story that becomes far more dangerous than expected. Her character gets caught in the world of illegal sand mining while following a lead with a seasoned cameraman. The film also features Shekhar Suman, Adil Hussain and Amol Palekar. Reporting Live released on October 9 and is streaming on Netflix.
Take Charge of My Heart - Netflix
If supernatural stories with a romantic twist are more your thing, Take Charge of My Heart brings an unusual combination of fantasy, romance and medical drama. Na Bo-bae plays a writer who develops electrical powers after being struck by lightning as a child, making physical contact with others impossible. Her life changes when she meets a cold executive whose artificial heart battery is running out of time. The Korean romantic comedy released on October 9 and is streaming on Netflix.
Mandaadi - Netflix
Soori leads the Tamil sports action drama Mandaadi as Muthukaali, a former sailboat racer who returns from Chennai. His return brings him face-to-face with an old rivalry involving Saattaappuli, played by Suhas. The film mixes sports, action and a personal conflict that goes back years. Mandaadi released on October 8 and is available on Netflix.
Treasure Island - Prime Video
The classic pirate adventure gets a new take with Treasure Island. The story follows teenager Jim Hawkins and his mother Bess as they are drawn into a dangerous race across the high seas in search of buried treasure. The film stars David Oyelowo, Hayley Atwell and Tom Sweet. Treasure Island released on October 11 and is streaming on MGM+ via Prime Video.
Epic: First Semester - Netflix
Anand Deverakonda and Vaishnavi Chaitanya reunite after Baby for the Telugu romantic comedy-drama Epic – First Semester. Anand plays Aditya, a middle-class man who dreams of becoming a filmmaker but moves to the UK after his parents push him towards higher education. There, he meets Kadali, played by Vaishnavi, an independent student who becomes an important part of his new life. The film released on October 9 and is streaming on Netflix.
