Now, the much-loved film is ready for its digital debut. Krantijyoti Vidyalay – Marathi Madhyam will have its World Digital Premiere on February 27, 2026, on ZEE5 (Marathi). The release coincides with Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Din.Set in Alibaug, the film revolves around Principal Dinkar Shirke (played by Khedekar), who is determined to save his ageing Marathi-medium school from being demolished. A corrupt politician plans to replace the institution with a modern international school.
With admissions at an all-time low, Shirke reaches out to seven former students, now adults leading different lives, urging them to reunite and protect their alma mater. The narrative moves between fond school memories and present-day realities, underlining how deeply language and culture shape personal identity.

Producer Kshitee Jog has said that the film emerged from a deeply personal belief. She shared that cinema can safeguard culture, spark dialogue and remind people of their roots. According to her, education in one’s mother tongue is not merely about language but about shaping confidence, identity and continuity across generations.
The film performed strongly during its theatrical run. As per Sacnilk, it earned Rs. 24 crore in India within six weeks and collected Rs. 28.65 crore worldwide. The positive word of mouth and emotional connection helped it sustain at the box office.
