Naveen Chandra’s Honey Gets Digital Release
After a short and underwhelming run in cinemas, the Telugu psychological horror thriller Honey is now heading to the digital space. Starring Naveen Chandra in the lead role, the film did not manage to draw crowds in theatres. Now, with its OTT premiere locked, the makers are hoping the film will find a second life online.

As per 123 Telugu, the digital rights of the film have been acquired by Sun NXT. The platform has officially announced that Honey will begin streaming from February 27 in Telugu and Tamil languages.

Apart from Sun NXT, the film will also stream on Amazon Prime Video. On Prime Video, it is expected to be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Since the film did not receive the expected footfall in theatres, there is curiosity around whether it may perform better on streaming platforms.

Story and performances

The film revolves around a married couple dealing with financial struggles. Anand, played by Naveen Chandra, is shown as a man who has knowledge of occult practices. In an attempt to earn money, he comes up with a morally questionable and risky plan involving his daughter. As events unfold, things go out of control, leading to serious consequences linked to superstition, health complications and emotional breakdown.

The film also features Divya Pillai, Raja Ravindra and Devi in key roles. Critics noted Naveen Chandra’s intense performance, and Devi too was appreciated for her strong presence. However, despite some performances being highlighted, the overall response was not favourable.

The film was produced under the banner of OVA Entertainments by Ravi Peetla and Praveen Kumar Reddy, and presented by Shekhar Studios. Music for the film was composed by Ajay R Sada.
