Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, popularly known as BMW, is finally preparing for its digital debut after completing a successful run in theatres earlier this year. The romantic comedy, headlined by Ravi Teja, released in January 2026 as a festive treat for Makar Sankranti. Directed by Kishore Tirumala, the film attracted family audiences and performed reasonably well at the box office despite receiving mixed critical responses. Recently, a report shared why there's a delay in OTT release.

Reason behind the delay of Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi OTT

While the theatrical phase has concluded, fans have been eagerly waiting to watch the film online. The delay in its OTT arrival has sparked curiosity among Telugu cinephiles, especially since most Telugu films typically premiere on streaming platforms within a month of release.

The post-theatrical streaming rights of the film are with ZEE5. However, even after five weeks in cinemas, the platform has not officially announced a premiere date. According to a report by OTTplay, the delay is not just because of pending dubbing work. There are also some financial matters related to the OTT deal that have not been resolved yet. Because of these issues, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi’s digital release has reportedly been postponed to March 2026

Recently, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, starring Chiranjeevi, premiered in as many as seven languages on the same day. If reports are accurate, BMW may follow a similar rollout plan to ensure a wider reach beyond Telugu-speaking audiences.

More about Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi

Coming to the story, Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi revolves around Ram Sathyanarayana, a businessman played by Ravi Teja, who owns a liquor brand. He is married to Balamani, portrayed by Dimple Hayathi. In a bid to expand his business, Ram travels abroad to meet potential investors. During this trip, he finds himself drawn to Manasa, played by Ashika Ranganath. What follows is a series of emotional and moral complications as Ram attempts to keep his actions hidden from his wife.

The film explores themes of temptation, guilt, and the impact of personal choices on family life. While the first half leans heavily on humour and songs that struck a chord with a section of the audience, the latter half shifts toward emotional drama. Some viewers felt that the climax lacked the depth and subtlety usually associated with Kishore Tirumala’s storytelling style.

Ravi Teja, however, earned appreciation for stepping away from his typical mass-action persona and portraying a more restrained, family-oriented character. His performance was seen as a refreshing change, even by critics who had reservations about the screenplay’s emotional stretch.

With no official OTT date confirmed yet, anticipation continues to build. Stay tuned for more updates!
