Kapil Dev 'quit cricket 5-7 years early' because technology was not on his side

The cricketer lamented the absence of technology during his time.

The former Indian cricket team captain spoke to the press at an event of SIMS hospital in Chennai recently.

Speaking about how he would have loved to play for longer, Dev said, “Had there been [better] technology then, I would have played cricket for another 5-7 years”.


Meanwhile, the Padma Shri awardee turned 60 on Sunday.

Many cricketers including Virendra Sehwag wished the former captain.

'Simmba' actor Ranveer Singh also took to Instagram to wish the cricket legend. The 33-year-old actor will soon be seen in Dev's biopic, titled '83'. The main focus of the Kabir Khan-directorial will be the World Cup 1983 win.

Dev, who now plays golf religiously, was in Chennai last week where he also cut a cake ahead of his birthday. Actress Jyothika was also present at the event.
