Kapil Dev bowled over by Jhulan Goswami’s cricketing prowess
When the Indian women’s cricket team reached the finals of the Women’s World Cup last year, Kapil Dev showered the team with accolades and adulation.

Now, when Indian pacer Jhulan Goswami became the first woman to take 200 wickets during the India-South Africa series, (a record that Dev himself holds), the former team Indian captain was just as jubilant.

“Hats off to her! For so many years she has been making India proud. A lot of hard work and discipline is needed for this. Women cricketers do not get the same encouragement as men, and so hats off to her family, friends and all those who encouraged her.”

Dev had earlier told ETPanache that by reaching the World Cup finals, women’s cricket has finally got its moment in the limelight, which will encourage more girls to come out and play. Hope this helps too.
