It’s no secret that many celebs go under the knife in order to adhere to the exacting beauty standards of the film industry. However, very few openly admit to resorting to cosmetic surgery. Shruti Haasan is one of the few rare celebs who has been refreshingly honest about going through cosmetic surgery to ‘perfect’ her looks.

In a candid chat with digital lifestyle magazine Hauterrfly, the ‘Salaar’ actress admitted she had indeed gone through a nose job.“I did get my nose fixed and it was very obvious I got my nose fixed. My nose was broken and quite different from before and I did my first film with my old nose. And people are like she’s just using the deviated septum excuse. No, I did have a deviated septum, it hurt. But if I could make it prettier, it’s my face, why wouldn’t I? It was that simple,” the actress was quoted as saying.

Haasan discussed her views on cosmetic procedures at length. The actress said she does not promote surgical enhancements but people should have the right to do what they want to with their bodies without being answerable to anybody. “I don’t feel the need to justify why I want to look a certain way for myself. They said, ‘Did you get fillers?’ Yeah. I did. ‘And tomorrow, would you get a facelift?’ Maybe, maybe not. Who knows? It’s my body and those who want to do whatever they want to or don’t want to, I don’t condone it,” she said.

The ‘Welcome Back’ actress clarified once again that she was not asking people to undergo cosmetic surgery, only defending her right to do so without being judged. , “I don’t want people to say that Shruti is asking everyone to get fillers. No. If you want to do it, do it. If you don’t want to, then don’t. Let me do what I am doing,” the actress was quoted as saying to the lifestyle magazine.

This is not the first time the actress had openly admitted to having cosmetic surgery. In a 2020 interview with Hindustan Times, Haasan spoke about getting fillers and surgery to look more glamorous. She also added that many of her peers did the same. “If there are any actresses telling you they haven’t done it, they are blatantly lying because people’s faces don’t change that much. But it’s just something that I wanted to talk about, ’’ she told the English daily.
