'Hud, Hud, Dabangg' was a trend ruling 2010, thanks to Salman Khan's film 'Dabangg'. Directed by Abhinav Kashyap, the action-comedy film featured Khan, onakshi Sinha who made her debut, along with Arbaaz Khan, Sonu Sood, Dimple Kapadia, Vinod Khanna and Anupam Kher in supporting roles.

The film, which released on Eid-Ul-Fitr,revolved around the life of a corrupt police officer Chulbul Pandey (Khan) who faced constant challenges from his family, politicians and gangsters.

That year, 'Dabangg' won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, and bagged six Filmfare Awards as well.

At the box-office, Khan's film boasts of a collection of Rs 241 crore.

The Bhaijaan of Bollywood ruled the box-office in 2011 as well with 'Bodyguard' which released in August that year.The romantic action-comedy film was directed by Siddique, and was a remake of a Malayalam film of the same name. 'Bodyguard' featured Khan and actress Kareena Kapoor Khan,, with Raj Babbar and Hazel Keech in supporting roles.

Divya (Kapoor Khan), the daughter of a nobleman, is given a bodyguard (Salman) by her father, citing death threats from a gangster. Trouble kicks in when she begins flirting with him and falls in love.

The film opened to positive reviews, and, at the box-office, it became the highest-ever opening grosser. With a collection of over Rs 212 crore, 'Bodyguard' was declared a huge commercial success.

Khan ruled box office for three consecutive years with blockbuster films. In 2012, 'Ek Tha Tiger' helped him complete a hattrick.. Written and directed by Kabir Khan, the action-thriller starred Khan and actress Katrina Kaif, whom he was reportedly dating at the time, in lead roles.

When Tiger (Khan), an Indian spy, is sent to retrieve information of national importance, he falls in love with a Pakistani girl (Kaif), who happens to be a spy on the same mission.

At the box-office, 'Ek Tha Tiger' minted Rs 237 crore, thereby becoming the highest-grossing film of 2012.

The third installment in the 'Dhoom' franchise, this one featured Aamir Khan in a crucial role, along with Uday Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan. The action-thriller was directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and was declared an all-time blockbuster in 2013.

'Dhoom 3' chronicled the journey of twin brothers who are circus entertainers by the day, and thieves by the night, set to avenge their father’s loss. When the two become too hard to catch for the police, officers Jai (Bachchan) and Ali (Chopra) are roped in to solve the case.

The film was one of the last releases of the year and went on to collect Rs 286 crore.

Another December release, 'PK' was the first film where Anushka Sharma and Aamir Khan shared screen space. The Rajkumar Hirani-directorial featured Khan as an alien who comes to earth for research work. However, as soon as he lands, his device is stolen and he embarks upon a roller-coaster ride to look for it.

During his time on earth, he raises questions that force people to re-evaluate the impact of god and religion on their lives.

The big budget film earned its makers bigger profits. Produced on a budget of Rs 85 crore, 'PK' proved an all-time-blockbuster when it minted Rs 337 crore.

Salman Khan was on top of the charts again in 2015 with the Kabir Khan-directorial 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan'. The film also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Om Puri and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in supporting roles.

At the box office, Khan's film was deemed an all-time blockbuster with a collection of Rs 340 crore.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film was a sports drama based on the wrestler family of Phogats. Mahavir Singh Phogat, father to 4 daughters, begins training his two eldest daughters in the art of wrestling as he eyes Commonwealth glory for his country and family.

'Dangal' won millions of hearts in India and overseas as well. The film won 4 Filmfare awards and one National Award was bagged by debutante actress Wasim for her portrayal of Geeta Phogat's younger self.

At the box office, 'Dangal' boasts of Rs 374 crore in its account.

The second film in the 'Bahubali' franchise, 'Bahubali 2: The Conclusion' came two years after its predecessor. With the same star cast in place - Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia - the epic action film showcased Shiva's (Prabhas) journey as he goes on to find out about the events of the Mahishmati kingdom and the death of his father, Bahubali.

Directed by S. S. Rajamouli, 'Bahubali 2' opened to positive reviews from fans and critics and bagged a number of awards overseas as well. However, the true magic reflected at box office where the Prabhas-starrer minted Rs 510 crore.

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, epic period drama 'Padmaavat' faced a number of controversies for allegedly distorting history. The film which starred Deepika Padukone (Rani Padmavati), Ranveer Singh (Alauddin Khilji) and Shahid Kapoor (Raja Ratan Singh) in pivotal roles, was under the radar of the Karni Sena for a long time which delayed its release by a few months. However, when the film reached the theatres, it minted money in a jiffy.

The film also won three National Awards and won popular and critical acclaim.At the box office, 'Padmaavat' earned Rs 282 crore and was named a blockbuster.
