iPhone 14 Pro to feature a bigger camera bump than iPhone 13 Pro. Here's why

Apple is gearing up for the launch of its latest flagship lineup, the iPhone 14 series. The Cupertino-based tech giant is known for maintaining utmost secrecy about its innovations and only divulging the bare minimum in the run-up to the launch of its devices. However, thanks to a number of tech analysts who have accurately predicted design and specification changes, fans of the brand can heave a sigh of relief.

Ahead of the launch of the iPhone 14 line-up, several unofficial reports hinted at a design sans the camera bump. However, a recent report from noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has debunked the claims of a design without a camera bump.

Kuo, recently, took to Twitter to explain why the iPhone 14 Pro will have a larger camera bump than the existing iPhone 13 Pro. The latest conversation surrounding the iPhone 14 design took place after another tech expert Max Weinbach shared schematics showcasing a thicker camera bump.

Kuo in his tweet suggested that Apple is planning major enhancements in iPhone 14 Pro cameras that could lead to a bigger camera module.

“The main reason for the larger and more prominent rear-camera bump of the 14 Pro/Pro Max is upgrading the wide camera to 48MP (vs. 13 Pro/Pro Max's 12MP). The diagonal length of 48MP CIS will increase by 25-35%, and the height of 48MP's 7P lens will increase by 5-10%,” read Kuo's tweet.
Kuo had earlier said that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will feature a 48MP camera sensor.
