iPhone 14 Pro likely to feature new A16 Bionic chip, standard smartphones will retain A15

Any news about the upcoming Apple 14 line-up is big news for Apple fans. While the Cupertino-based tech company unveiled its latest devices in the ‘Peek Performance’ event held on March 8, now the tech world is anticipating the launch of its much-awaited iPhone 14 line-up.

Even though the date for the official launch is yet to be known, frequent leaks and teases about the new devices from Apple is keeping tech enthusiasts on the edge.

The successor to the iPhone 13 line-up is expected to feature a slew of innovations. Be it the design or the efficiency of the smartphone, several leaks have been suggesting major upgrades in the upcoming line-up.


The latest report based on insights from noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo seems to suggest that the iPhone 14 Pro models will feature the latest A16 chip, while the regular iPhone 14 models may come with the existing A15 Bionic chip. Currently, the iPhone 13 line-up comes equipped with the A15 Bionic chips.

The analyst in a tweet shared that the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max will feature an A16 chip, while the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max will have the existing A15 Bionic chip.
Kuo also said that all four models may come with 6GB RAM with LPDDR 5 for the Pro models and LPDDR 4X for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max.

According to experts, the difference in chips in the upcoming line-up will be the significant differentiator between the Pro and standard models in the iPhone 14 line-up. At present, the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini feature 4GB RAM, while the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max come with a 6GB RAM capability. However, with the latest development, now it seems all smartphones in the iPhone 14 line-up will come with 6GB RAM.
