HUL Chairman Sanjiv Mehta finds Thursdays magical!

Sanjiv Mehta was announced HUL chairman on Thursday.

If you had to ask a CEO their favourite day of the week, they’d probably say Monday or Friday. But for Sanjiv Mehta, chairman, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), it is Thursday that holds the most magic.

On the side-lines of an award show in Mumbai, he said: “Thursday was the day my daughters were born. We have two wonderful twin daughters who are the joy and pride of our lives. So, if there are any good things I have to do and if I’m given an option, I’d (always) do it on a Thursday.”

There must be some truth in that statement for it was a Thursday when HUL announced Mehta’s elevation as chairman following former non-executive chairman Harish Manwani’s retirement. Coincidence or grand design?
