We are back with the Friday watchlist! It’s a big weekend, and this time there is something for everyone to watch from the comfort of their homes, especially for those who are not planning a trip. From Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s romantic comedy Bethlehem Kudumba Unit to Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi’s Pooja Meri Jaan, here’s a look at the Friday OTT releases of the week.

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit - JioHotstar

Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is now streaming on JioHotstar from October 2. The Malayalam romantic comedy stars Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju in the lead roles and arrives on streaming after a successful theatrical run.


Directed by Girish A.D., the film follows Justin, played by Nivin, a single man who runs a catering business, and Ashley, played by Mamitha, a young college student who moves into his close-knit neighbourhood in Angamaly. Their relationship forms the centre of the story, while family troubles, parish politics and the interference of local community members add to the chaos.

The film also stars Sangeeth Prathap, Vinay Forrt and Bindu Panicker. It is available in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Pooja Meri Jaan - ZEE5

Mrunal Thakur and Huma Qureshi’s Pooja Meri Jaan begins streaming on ZEE5 on October 2. Directed by Navjot Gulati, the crime drama also features Vikram Singh Chauhan, Vijay Raaz and Chaitanya Vyas.

The story follows Pooja, whose life changes after her friend Aniket dies by suicide following her rejection of his marriage proposal. She later finds herself facing allegations linked to his death and seeks the help of a lawyer, Sana.

As the case develops, different versions of events emerge and questions surrounding Aniket’s death become more complicated.

#Love - Netflix

The Tamil romantic comedy series #Love is streaming globally on Netflix from October 2. Directed by Balaji Mohan and produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth, the series stars Arjun Das and Aishwarya Lekshmi.

The two actors play rival dating-app founders, Matthew and Tara, who have very different views about modern relationships. To settle their argument over whether chemistry or compatibility matters more, they agree to take part in a 60-day relationship challenge.

Originally made in Tamil, the series is also available with Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam audio options.

Doing Life - Netflix

Tyler Perry’s Doing Life also arrives on Netflix on October 2. The drama stars Naomi Baker as Anika, a single mother and former prison guard, and Jay Reeves as Carousel, a reformed convict.

Their story begins during a prison riot when Carousel saves Anika. The two later stay connected through letters, and their relationship slowly develops despite the resistance from Anika’s family because of Carousel’s past.

Written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry, the film focuses on redemption, hope and the possibility of finding love in difficult circumstances.



Ip Man: Kung Fu Legend - Lionsgate Play

For viewers looking for action, Ip Man: Kung Fu Legend brings a martial arts story set in 1950s Hong Kong. The film stars Dennis To as the legendary Wing Chun master.

After leaving the police force, Ip Man opens a martial arts school. His life takes a different turn when a Western boxing gym begins encroaching on properties connected to the local martial arts community. This leads him into a confrontation that tests his principles and his commitment to the martial arts tradition.

The Last First: Winter K2 - Apple TV+

For something different, The Last First: Winter K2 is streaming on Apple TV+ from October 2, alongside a limited theatrical release. Directed by Amir Bar-Lev, the documentary looks at the dangerous world of winter mountaineering.

The film follows the 2021 expedition of Icelandic mountaineer John Snorri and Pakistani mountaineers Ali and Sajid Sadpara as they attempt to climb K2 during winter. Along the way, it examines the changing culture of extreme mountaineering and the growing presence of social media, film crews and commercial expeditions.
