Earth Day 2021: With a doodle, Google shows us how we can protect our planet - by planting one tree at a time
Earth Day is celebrated as a reminder to protect the environment and to contribute to a better planet.
The doodle perfectly captures generation after generation recognising the significance of trees for our bright future as everyone is seen planting a sampling and watching it grow old with them. Earth Day is celebrated each year on April 22 to remind ourselves to protect the environment, nourish it and to contribute to a better planet.
"The planet we call home continues to nurture life and inspire wonder. Our environment works hard to sustain us, which calls for us to return the favor. Today’s video Doodle shows a variety of trees being planted within natural habitats, one of the many ways we can do our part to keep our Earth healthy for future generations," Google wrote alongside the doodle.
The concept of celebrating Earth Day was introduced by Gaylord Nelson, a US senator from Wisconsin and it first became an occasion of celebration in April 1970. On that day, close to 20 million citizens across US walked the streets together for a viable future.
With visible climate change, Earth Day is also a reminder to step up our measures to protect the planet we call home. "This Earth Day—and every day—we encourage everyone to find one small act they can do to restore our Earth. It’s bound to take root and blossom into something beautiful," Google said.
