Dupahiya 2 OTT release date announced: When and where to watch Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Bhuvan Arora's comedy series

Dupahiya is returning with another round of village chaos, quirky characters and everyday problems. Set in the fictional village of Dhadakpur, the comedy-drama follows a close-knit community where even a seemingly simple incident can turn into a problem for everyone. After the success of its first season, the makers are bringing the residents back for another story filled with humour and drama.

The second season of Dupahiya will premiere on Prime Video. Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma will reprise their roles. Bhojpuri actor and singer Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, will also join the cast this season.

What is Dupahiya about?

Set in Dhadakpur, Dupahiya takes viewers into the everyday lives of people living in a fictional rural Indian village. The show uses the relationships between its residents and their unusual situations to create a light-hearted comedy.


The setting and community-driven storytelling have drawn comparisons with shows such as Panchayat. However, Dupahiya has its own storyline, built around the people of Dhadakpur and the problems that disrupt their otherwise peaceful lives.



The first season introduced the village as a place that proudly celebrated 25 years without a single crime. That reputation, however, was put at risk when a motorcycle mysteriously disappeared just days before a wedding.

The missing bike became much more than a simple theft for the villagers. With the village's crime-free record at stake, the residents had to put aside their differences and work together to figure out what had happened.

What to expect from Dupahiya Season 2?

The upcoming season will take the story forward with a new set of problems for the residents of Dhadakpur. While the first season revolved around the mystery of the missing motorcycle, the second chapter promises more complications and situations that bring the villagers together.

The show continues to focus on the charm of small-town life, where personal relationships, local traditions and everyday problems often become the centre of larger dramas.

The makers have also teased bigger stakes in the new season. Along with comedy, the story is expected to explore the emotional side of its characters as they deal with new challenges.

Creators and executive producers Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani said that Dupahiya is rooted in rural India but deals with themes that audiences can relate to. According to them, the story is about big dreams meeting everyday chaos, with humour emerging from unexpected situations. They added that Season 2 would bring newer challenges and bigger stakes while retaining the emotional moments and comedy that shaped the first instalment.

The show's main cast is returning for the second season. Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma will reprise their respective roles.

The second season will also feature a new addition to the ensemble. Bhojpuri actor and singer Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, will join the cast. Known for his work in Bhojpuri cinema and music, his entry adds another performer to the show's rural setting.

Behind the camera, Sonam Nair returns as the director. Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani have created and produced the series under the banner of Bombay Film Cartel LLP. Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg have created and written the show.

When and where to watch Dupahiya Season 2?

Dupahiya Season 2 will be available to stream on Prime Video from October 1. The new season brings back Dhadakpur and its residents, with a fresh storyline, returning characters and new complications.
