The OTT release of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has become a talking point among viewers who skipped theatres and are now waiting for it to land online. The Ranveer Singh-led spy thriller is still doing strong business at the box office, and that has slightly changed the timeline many were expecting for its digital debut.

Strong theatrical run delays OTT plans

Released in cinemas on March 19, 2026, Dhurandhar 2 has continued to pull audiences even weeks after its release. The film has crossed massive numbers globally, with reports suggesting it has gone beyond ₹1,600 crore worldwide. Even in its third week, it managed to add solid daily collections, which shows the kind of hold it has at the box office.

Because of this sustained performance, the film is not rushing to OTT. In Bollywood, big films usually follow an eight-week theatrical window before moving to streaming platforms. This is done to ensure cinema collections are not affected.

When and where to watch Dhurandhar 2 online

As per multiple industry reports, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge will stream on JioHotstar after its theatrical run. This also marks a shift, as the first film was released on Netflix.

While there is no official announcement yet, trade insiders suggest that the film is likely to premiere either in the last week of May 2026 or the first week of June 2026. The timing, however, is not random.


A source told Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge is slated to premiere on JioHotstar after the culmination of IPL 2026. The film will be released online for streaming in the last week of May or first week of June 2026, which depends on the programming schedule of JioHotstar."

The delay is largely strategic. With Indian Premier League 2026 currently drawing massive viewership, the platform is avoiding releasing a big-ticket film during the tournament.


Streaming it after the IPL ends gives the film a clearer window and better attention from viewers. It’s a simple move but makes sense from a business point of view.

There is also a financial angle involved. The digital rights for the film were picked up by JioHotstar in a deal reportedly worth around ₹120–150 crore. Speaking about the deal, a source said, "While Netflix paid an exorbitant amount for the digital rights of the first installment, the makers believed that the second part deserved a premium price as it had the potential to break office records. As JioHotstar entered the mix, they were happy to paid a mind-boggling amount (Rs 120-150 crore) to bag the exclusive streaming rights for Dhurandhar 2."

Cast, story and continued buzz

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film brings back Ranveer Singh as undercover agent Jaskirat Singh Rangi, who operates under a false identity in Pakistan. The sequel goes deeper into espionage, betrayal and high-stakes missions, with a more expansive scale than the first part.

The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan and others in key roles.

With strong word of mouth and franchise recall, Dhurandhar 2 is still attracting audiences in theatres. At the same time, the curiosity around its OTT release is only growing.

Apart from its theatrical and OTT buzz, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has also been part of a larger internal content strategy. The film has been backed by Jio Studios in collaboration with B62 Studios, and its digital deal is seen as an in-house move to strengthen the content library of JioHotstar.
