Vaazha 2 OTT release details: When and where to watch the superhit Malayalam comedy-drama after theatrical run

The Malayalam film industry has once again shown that big stars are not always needed for big success. Vaazha 2: Biopic of a Billion Bros has quietly turned into one of the biggest hits of the year, surprising many. Made on a modest budget, the film has managed to pull large crowds into theatres, mainly because people connected with its story and characters. Now, after its strong theatrical run, many viewers are waiting to know when and where it will be available online.

The film released on April 2 and within just a week, it crossed the ₹100 crore mark worldwide. This is quite huge considering the film was reportedly made on a budget of around ₹10 crore. Earlier, the first part Vaazha had also done something similar by turning a small investment into a big success.

As per Sacnilk, the film opened with ₹4.75 crore net on Day 1 across India, with total worldwide gross reaching ₹10.26 crore on the first day itself. The momentum didn’t slow down much after that. The film also went past the collection of Aadu 3 in India, which had earned ₹50.70 crore in over three weeks, while Vaazha 2 crossed that number in just about a week.

Where to watch Vaazha 2 on OTT

For those waiting to stream the film at home, there is some clarity now. Just like the first part, Vaazha 2 is expected to release on the OTT platform JioHotstar. The original Vaazha is already available there in multiple languages including Malayalam and Telugu.

While an official streaming date has not been confirmed yet, reports suggest that the film may arrive online about four to six weeks after its theatrical run ends. This is a usual pattern followed by many recent Malayalam releases as well.

Story continues the same emotional world

The film stays close to what worked earlier. It follows the lives of four young men and their journey from college days to figuring out life. Their friendship, small fights, confusion about careers, and emotional moments form the core of the story.

Two of the boys have known each other since childhood, and later another friend joins them after an incident in college. Together, they spend time in a carefree way, often getting into trouble. At one point, they begin to think seriously about their future, and that’s when life starts to change.

The film shows how their paths slowly move in different directions and what happens after that. It mixes humour with emotional moments, which is something many viewers found relatable.

Team behind the film

The story for both parts has been written by Vipin Das, who is also one of the producers. The sequel has been directed by Savin S A, while the first part was directed by Anand Menon.

The film also has backing from Telugu producer Sahu Garapati, making this his second successful project this year.

Music plays an important role in the film’s feel, with contributions from multiple artists including Ankit Menon and others. The cinematography by Akhil Lailasuran and editing by Kannan Mohan help keep the narrative simple and easy to follow.
