While her parental mansion on Altamount Road is the most talked-about residential property in the country, Nita and Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha’s sprawling marital home at Worli Sea Face is no less opulent in comparison. Isha is set to wed Piramal scion Anand on December 12. The couple will move into the five-storey bungalow at Worli Sea Face, six years after the Piramals bought the property, spread over 50,000 sq ft, from Hindustan Unilever Ltd.
The bungalow, a gift from Ajay and Swati Piramal to their son Anand and Isha, received an all-clear certificate and permissions to occupy from the BMC on September 19. Ajay Piramal heads a $10 billion global conglomerate that deals in pharmaceuticals, financial services, real estate, information services and glass packaging.]
The address of opulence Besides the five floors, the bungalow has three basements, of which second and third are for services and parking. The level 1 basement has a lawn, an open-air water body, and a doubleheight multi-purpose room. The ground floor houses the entrance lobby, and the upper storeys have floor plates ranging between 8,700 sq ft and12,300 sq ft dotted with living and dining halls, triple-height multi-purpose rooms, bedrooms and circular studies. The bungalow also has lounge areas, dressing rooms and servants’ quarters at different levels.
The bungalow is constructed on a plot that housed Hindustan Unilever Ltd’s training centre, before the property, Gulita, was purchased by the Piramals for Rs 452.5 crore in 2012. Work on the bungalow faced a few glitches following allegations against the construction but things settled down quickly and construction began in full swing in 2015.

In August this year, architect Phiroze Jamshed Panthaky sought occupation certificate from the BMC, which arrived a month later. While the Piramal Group did not respond to queries from this newspaper, sources said that the construction part is over, and work is on for the interiors, which the family is aiming to get completed by December 1 when a pooja has been organised. Isha’s current home, Antilia, is spread over four lakh sq ft and is called the second-most expensive residential property, after the Buckingham Palace.
